“On this autumn night, on September 27, “Literary Oscar” was held. I took part in it. I was happy to share my verses with the audience; their support helped me cope with my excitement. I heard a lot of wonderful poems performed by Russian and international poets. My surname became a kind of a mystery for the host of the contest. They didn’t know what syllable should be stressed. I was glad to know that I had won the second place. But they said I was a vocational college student; in fact I am a third-year university student. But this mistake didn’t diminish my joy of the victory and the participation in this bright event,” wrote Valeria.
Her participation in a creativity competition became another step to victory. “I need to install one more shelf for my awards,” said the girl smiling.
We met just before the classes. Valeria is a third-year student of NCSPU Faculty of Philology; she has been writing poetry since 2017. “First, there were just the lines; then they materialized into verses. I am writing about myself, nature and trips,” noted the poet. She is inspired by some significant events, too. The municipal student award “Literary Oscar 2024” was one of them.
The literary award was initiated by the municipal student council and the Youth Center “Nur” with the support from the Executive Committee of Naberezhnye Chelny.
Valeria won the second place in the category “The self-composed works.” To the jury she presented her favorite poem “The talk with Naberezhnye Chelny.”
Valeria doesn’t see from birth. According to her mother, “she feels this world by light perception.” Nevertheless, the girl is going to reach new heights. She adores reading and looks forward to giving classes at school as a Russian language teacher.
Wishing her every success!
