The fourth-year students of NCSPU Industrial-Pedagogical College in the specialty
“Primary school” got familiar with some new techniques of cooperative learning.
The workshop conducted by Aelita Safina, PhD, became a revelation for the future
teachers.
Cooperative learning is a unique educational technology which is based on group
work; the pupils help each other to achieve the set goal. The most important aspect
of this technology is a clear structure and clear algorithms for group work; it
allows a teacher to work productively. Aelita Safina shared the most demanded and
effective methods of cooperative learning and the students got engaged in the
process immediately.
Angelina Salakhova, a student:
“The training was exciting. The professor presented the material in a clear and a
humorous way. We learnt about the methods of cooperative learning which we
will certainly apply during our internship. The time passed quickly!”
Polina Kolesnikova, a student:
“We learnt a lot of interesting things about cooperative learning and tried using
these techniques. I remember some very well: one is called “external and internal
circle” and the other - “corners”.
Zarina Teshabaeva, a student:
“The material was relevant. The knowledge we gained was useful. We acquired the
skills which we will certainly apply in our work.”
