Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko chairs meeting on developing phygital sports in educational institutions.

A meeting on the development of phygital sports in secondary education
organizations was held under the chairmanship of Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy
Chairman of the Russian Government.
Participants included Russian Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov, First Deputy
Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Odes Baysultanov, President of the
All-Russian Phygital Sports Federation Nikita Nagorny, as well as representatives
from other interested organizations.
“With the support of President Vladimir Putin, the development of an innovative
sports movement – phygital sports, combining digital and physical activities – has
been launched. The first games were successfully held in Kazan, and this
movement has already spread to 117 countries. We see evidence of the
effectiveness of this format. And our coordinated actions will determine how this
movement develops where it was invented – in Russia, including in the scientific
and educational spheres,” stated Dmitry Chernyshenko.
He cited examples of phygital sports’ positive impact on society: for instance, at
the Victory Cup 2025, doctors reported that phygital technologies contribute to the
accelerated recovery of those wounded in the special military operation. They also
help engage gamers among children and youth in sports.
The Government has approved the Concept for the Development of the Phygital
Movement until 2030 and an action plan for its implementation.
Among the important measures for developing the phygital movement, the Deputy
Prime Minister noted the creation of gaming content, improving the material and
technical resources of educational organizations, and establishing a system of
incentives and rewards. He also reminded that the “Phygital Games 2025” will be
held in Nizhny Novgorod from September 17 to 20, and proposed conducting an
open phygital lesson for general education organizations as part of the upcomingInternational Sports Forum “Russia – A Sporting Power”.
Russian Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov emphasized that concluding an
agreement between his ministry and the All-Russian Phygital Sports Federation
could provide an impetus for promoting phygital sports.
“We are gradually developing the phygital sports direction within the education
system, and there are already successful developments. At the first stage, we
propose introducing the implementation of phygital sports programs into the
educational process, both as part of extracurricular activities and in
supplementary education. This can be done on the basis of school sports clubs –
38,000 have already been created to date. We observe growing interest among
schoolchildren in activities at such clubs – participation has increased from 2
million in 2021 to 3.4 million in 2024,” noted Sergey Kravtsov.
President of the All-Russian Phygital Sports Federation Nikita Nagorny
highlighted the need to hold a major phygital event combining a championship and
a festival.
