Their first encounter. Students of NCSPU Preparatory Department discovered what skiing is all about

The Department of Russian as a Foreign Language and Intercultural
Communication, together with the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Physical Education
and Sports, organized an event in the city park for students of the preparatory
department from Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon, India, Turkmenistan, Malaysia,
Thailand, and other countries. The students, for whom the Russian winter is a
novelty, tried skiing for the first time in their lives.
Before the start of the outdoor activity, the Dean of the Faculty, Aidar Akhmetov,
personally conducted a safety briefing for the foreign guests. He explained how to
handle the equipment correctly and demonstrated how to ski in order to enjoy the
process and avoid injuries. Despite the fact that many of the students were skiing
for the first time, the event went off without a hitch.
The snowy park alleys were filled with laughter and joyful exclamations. The
students received a huge boost of positive emotions and a wealth of new
impressions. The students themselves admitted that such a day would be
remembered for a long time and would become one of the brightest memories of
their time in Russia.
