Animation of folklore in education: seminar in Naberezhnye Chelny State Pedagogical University as part of RAO Assembly “Lessons of Unity”

On April 17, 2026, a methodological seminar titled “Methods of Integrating
Animation into the Educational Process (Using the Examples of Russian, Tatar,
and Turkmen Folk Tales)” was held as part of the 5th International Assembly of the
Russian Academy of Education “Lessons of Unity” (April 15-17, 2026; Moscow).
The event was initiated by the Naberezhnye Chelny Scientific Center of the
Russian Academy of Education, which operates on the basis of the Naberezhnye
Chelny State Pedagogical University (NCSPU).
The participants were greeted by the Rector of NCSPU, A. Galiakberova, who
emphasized that the integration of animation and folklore is not just a passing fad,
but a genuine response to the demands of educators and a tool for preserving the
cultural code.
The participants discussed modern approaches to using animation in preschool and
primary education. The focus was on the integrative potential of folklore
animation: how to maintain a child's interest in their native language, folklore, and
the culture of different peoples through multimedia formats, turning fairy tales into
an effective educational tool.
The seminar program included presentations on:

The methodology of using national epics (Russian, Tatar, Turkmen) in
interactive learning for primary schoolchildren;

The experience of creating multimedia content and animated storytelling for
a spelling trainer;

The results of student project activities in developing video materials for
children's education.
Presentations were given by leading scientists and practicing educators: I.Zakharova (PhD in Psychology, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of
Theory and Methods of Primary and Preschool Education, Head of the
Naberezhnye Chelny Scientific Center of the RAE); S. Grakhova (PhD in
Philology, Associate Professor, Head of the Digital Technologies in Education
Sector at the Naberezhnye Chelny Scientific Center of the RAE, seminar
moderator); P. Necheukhina (primary school teacher); A. Melnikova (primary
school teacher of the highest qualification category, prize-winner of the All-
Russian professional competition “First Teacher 2025”). The creative laboratory
was presented by 4th-year student A. Avkhadieva, a member of the scientific
association “DoMiNO: Digital Technologies in Preschool and Primary Education”.
Expert evaluation of the presented materials was provided by the First Vice-Rector
of NCSPU, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor A. Mukhametshin; Head of
the International Relations Department of NCSPU, PhD in Sociological Sciences
L. Galiev; and Senior Researcher of the Research Sector, Acting Director of the
Technopark of Universal Pedagogical Competencies named after Academician K.
Valiev, PhD in Pedagogical Sciences R. Galiev. They noted the project's
significance for teacher training education, the international potential for
cooperation with Turkmenistan, and the possibilities for technological refinement
of the content at the Technopark of Universal Pedagogical Competencies named
after Academician K. Valiev.
The seminar concluded with an agreement to implement the developed video
materials and training exercises into the practice of preschool institutions and
primary schools, as well as an invitation for collaboration in testing the
methodologies.
