Naberezhnye Chelny is 400: professors and workers of culture discuss anniversary of city at “Pedagogical readings” held in Naberezhnye Chelny State Pedagogical University

On April 24, 2026, the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics, and Arts held a
scientific-methodological seminar dedicated to the 400th anniversary of
Naberezhnye Chelny and the 50th anniversary of the production of the first
KAMAZ vehicle.
The program addressed current issues of fostering love for their hometown among
young Naberezhnye Chelny residents through creative reinterpretation of its
history and development prospects. It also raised problems of preserving the
memory of the pioneers - the builders of the city and the automotive giant, as well
as cultural and artistic figures who shaped the image of Naberezhnye Chelny.
The participants included representatives of educational and cultural institutions
from our city, as well as from Nizhnekamsk, St. Petersburg, and the Tolyatti urban
district.
Lenar Akhmetov, Chairman of the Naberezhnye Chelny branch of the All-Russian
Creative Public Organization “Union of Artists of Russia”, spoke about the role of
the Union of Artists and public movements in preserving the cultural and historical
heritage of Naberezhnye Chelny. A sociological analysis of the transformation of
the urban environment was presented by Elena Rassolova (member of the St.
Petersburg Association of Sociologists).
Colleagues from the Naberezhnye Chelny Art Gallery - Ruziya Valiulina, Deputy
Director; Tatyana Zinovieva, Chief Curator; and Elena Parshikova, Research
Associate - shared unique research on the work of artists and decorative and
applied arts masters in decorating the city during the 1970s-80s.
Art teachers, including Marina Belkina, Director of the Children's Art School No.
2, and Gyuzyali Sharafutdinova, Chair of the local branch of the Union of
Pedagogical Artists, along with their colleagues, discussed their creativeexperience in introducing schoolchildren to the city's history. Promising urban
environment design projects were presented by the Naberezhnye Chelny College
of Arts.
Applied art practices reflecting the theme of the city in youth creativity were
demonstrated by Tatyana Batrakova, Head of the “Art-Club” location at the
Municipal Autonomous Institution “Center for Methodological (Preventive) Work
with Youth at the Place of Residence 'Podrostok'”.
Great interest was aroused by the presentations of art teachers - graduates of
Naberezhnye Chelny State Pedagogical University, who showcased their creative
educational materials: E. Idrisova, L. Khazieva, and others. An original master
class titled “Chelny Postcard Calendar” was conducted by Polina Petrushkina (art
teacher at Secondary School No. 20).
As part of the seminar, a regional competition of methodological materials
dedicated to the anniversary dates of the city of Naberezhnye Chelny and KAMAZ
was held.
