More than 3,500 schoolchildren from Russia and 29 foreign countries will mark Victory Day in “Artek”

The fifth session of 2026, titled “The History of the Great Victory”, is launching at
the International Children's Center “Artek”. By May 25, over 3,500 children from
all regions of Russia and 29 foreign countries will learn in detail about the
significance of the unity of generations, the preservation of historical memory, and
deep respect for the heroism of the defenders of the Motherland.
The concept of the session is built on five key foundations: “The Year of Unity of
the Peoples of Russia”, “The History of Our Victories”, “The Great Russian Style”,
“International Activity: Artek and the World”, and “Movement of the First”. It is
aimed at forming semantic integrity and involving children in active forms of
studying the national heritage.
“Our task is not just to talk about the past, but to create an emotional and
meaningful connection between eras. Victory Day is a living memory that unites
children and adults in recognizing the value of peace, heroism, and personal
responsibility to the country. Through interactive programs, meetings with heroes,
and immersion in the context of great deeds, we are fostering in teenagers not only
knowledge but also a steadfast civic position. During this session, “Artek”
becomes a space where history comes alive in the hearts of the new generation,”
emphasized Konstantin Fedorenko, Director of the International Children's Center.
The participants will take part in educational, ceremonial, and commemorative
events marking the 81st anniversary of the Victory and other significant dates. The
program includes all-Russian campaigns such as “Victory Windows”, “Garden of
Memory”, “Immortal Regiment”, “St. George's Ribbon”, as well as a solemn
ceremony at Sapun Mountain in Sevastopol, the “Frontline Trails: A Journey into
History” military field camp, the project “Face of Victory: The Story of a Single
Frame”, and other activities.
Special attention will be given to working with literary works. Children willdiscuss the book “75 Facts about the Great Patriotic War” and poems by Vladimir
Stepanov for younger schoolchildren.
Additionally, the session will host the finals of the All-Russian Competition of
Young Readers “Living Classics”, the play “Frontier of Immortality”, a concert for
Border Guard Day, and other creative competitions. Schoolchildren can look
forward to dialogues about Russia's cultural code, and the project competition
“Artek Horizons of Good”.
The International Children's Center is under the authority of the Ministry of
Education of the Russian Federation. Previously, the fourth session concluded
here, with over 3,500 participants.
