It is necessary to consistently develop the volunteer movement and strengthen
efforts in the patriotic education of youth in Tatarstan. This was stated by the Rais
(Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, at a meeting of the
republican organizing committee for events marking the 81st anniversary of the
Victory and the Year of Military and Labor Valor.
"The further development of the volunteer movement requires consideration.
Today, thousands of volunteers are operating in RT, providing invaluable
assistance to participants in the Special Military Operation. It is necessary to
systematically adapt the existing volunteer infrastructure to support the families of
the fallen and veterans of the Special Military Operation, as well as to support
children's and youth projects aimed at caring for the defenders of the Fatherland,"
Minnikhanov emphasized.
The Rais of Tatarstan also pointed out the importance of a systematic approach to
encouraging volunteers and developing relevant initiatives. He paid special
attention to issues of patriotic education of youth, stressing the need to establish a
more effective dialogue with the younger generation.
"One of the strategic tasks is the patriotic education of the younger generation. We
know what patriotism is, but how do we engage young people in this work? This is
our problem, our shortcoming - that we have not yet found the appropriate
approaches. We must learn to conduct a dialogue with young people and carry out
explanatory work," the Tatarstan leader stated.
Minnikhanov also called for a more active involvement of educational institutions
and youth organizations in the patriotic agenda, including the development of the
“Movement of the First”.
Furthermore, the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan reminded that 2026 will be richin significant historical and socially important dates. These include the 85th
anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War, the Year of Military and Labor
Valor in Tatarstan, and the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. According to
him, these events should serve as the foundation for large-scale patriotic work and
the preservation of historical memory.
"We face the task of conducting all planned events with dignity, preserving the
memory of the heroic past and strengthening the unity of the peoples," noted the
Rais of Tatarstan.
He added that all ongoing initiatives should be more widely covered in the mass
media, as well as reflected in the cultural and creative spheres, including theaters
and concert venues.
