The Volunteer Corps of the Festival helped make the World Youth Festival unforgettable and get the guests familiar with hospitability and transparency of Russia during the event.
Olesya Sobesskaya, a student of the NCSPU Faculty of History and Geography, happened to work on the volunteer team.
“To become a Festival volunteer you had to do a lot of things: to apply, to be interviewed, tested and trained. We all had specific responsibilities. Our team was responsible for logistics: which included escorting the delegations and translating for them. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to practice my English speaking skills. I am happy I was part of the mega-scale event!”said Olesya.
To recall, the World Youth Festival has been the largest event this year. The Festival was held in Sochi, at “Sirius”. The closing ceremony was on March 7; the Festival brought together more than 20 thousand people who represented more than 190 countries.
